Amor’s Career Journey
Amor is a highly accomplished all-round business professional, having worked for, advised, founded, and been involved with a wide range of companies - from large multinationals to startup ventures. Her diverse background includes strategy, communications, marketing, regulatory engagement, commercial law, and the design and delivery of enterprise-grade products and solutions.
As a commercial lawyer in Australia, Amor helped launch a pioneering digital currency and blockchain legal practice in 2013. At this time, there was a gap in the market for blockchain related legal services and Amor built a team of local experts who helped companies navigate the complex intersection of ground-breaking nascent technology and long-established regulatory frameworks.
Amor was also a founding member of COALA, an international multidisciplinary research and development collaboration between academics, lawyers, technologists and entrepreneurs. Supported by Harvard and MIT, COALA sought to bring clarity and reduce legal uncertainty in the field of blockchain technologies, smart contracts, and decentralised autonomous organisations.
After relocating to Ireland in 2015, Amor became Senior Innovation Manager at the Citi Innovation Lab in Dublin. In this role she was Head of Blockchain for Citi’s Treasury and Trade Solutions Group and she led the ideation, validation, and launch of CitiConnect for Blockchain, an institutional banking initiative that tightly integrated Nasdaq’s blockchain technology with Citi's global financial network. Amor then went on to play a key role in Digital Transformation for BNP Paribas Securities Services, where she led a team that created, implemented and drove execution of a data and digital strategy that was focused on delivering a differentiated client experience.
In her most recent role, Amor was Head of Operations & Strategy, Ireland for Coinbase. At Coinbase, she was responsible for operations across the Irish-based crypto and custody businesses, serving a global customer base. In this pivotal role, Amor also helped drive the strategy for expansion of the company’s global institutional business. Amor is also a mentor for the current cohort in the TechStars Web3 Accelerator in Ireland.
Amor now sets her sights on scaling Blockdaemon’s local operations and accelerating our global staking business.
Why Amor Joined Blockdaemon
For Amor, Blockdaemon is the strong backbone of web3, and she is excited to be part of a team that is building the industry’s underlying infrastructure. This infrastructure, Amor claims, is essential as the industry scales from millions to billions of users into the future. Ultimately, Amor hopes that Blockdaemon’s offerings will help power the mass adoption of use-cases created by blockchain technology. Amor is also fascinated by the potential that staking offers both institutions and individuals.
For her, staking represents a new way for network participants to be rewarded for their role in helping to power a network. Staking represents a compelling use case for both industry and individuals and Amor is passionate about further elevating Blockdaemon’s innovative staking offerings.With her years of experience as an industry expert, Amor is well placed to add massive value to Blockdaemon.
As GM for Ireland, she will be responsible for the operation and governance of the Irish businesses, and will work with Blockdaemon’s leadership team to build and scale all aspects of our staking business.
