EigenLayer Mainnet Slashing Now Live

Slashing has officially gone live on EigenLayer mainnet. This means Operators, like Blockdaemon, are now accountable to conditions set by the services (AVSs) they choose to support. If Operators fail to meet these requirements, they risk losing a portion of their stake. If they succeed, they can secure rewards for reliable performance. What stakers need to know: 

• Gradual Adoption: Not all AVSs will implement slashing from Day 1. Expect a phased roll-out as each AVS refines its approach.
  
• Opt-In Model: Operators and Stakers won’t be automatically slashed for existing AVSs. Each AVS sets its own criteria, which Operators (and their Stakers) must actively accept.
  
• 14-Day Withdrawal Queue: Any stake withdrawal must wait 14 days after being queued. This window ensures AVSs can accurately account for - and apply - slashing if necessary.
